Best JLab Earbuds

Last Updated: October 7, 2014 By Sean

We review the best JBuds by JLabJLab Audio headphones are some of the best in the market in terms of affordability and quality. I’ve owned a few pairs in my day and continue to use mine when I go to the gym or if I’m traveling to Chicago to visit my younger brother. I’ve taken a look at some of the other popular brands in the market, such as Skullcandy or Beats by Dre, but I’m really turned off by how high they markup their products — I think it has to do with how much they market, and because they can get away with it.

JLab on the other hand isn’t too saturated when it comes to P&R, so they’re a bit less unknown and sometimes go through the radar. We’re huge fans of JLab earbuds, which is why we wanted to do the research to help our readers find the best possible in terms of quality and price. We’ve found the top best earbuds they offer: some are wireless (which we’ll note) and other are not but still have some really good technology to help you get the best out of your music without putting a hole in your pocket.

Firstly, we’ll pick our very best from the start and then list the top 10 best we think you should check out. So which model is the winner? We went by a simple formula of the overall price (we like to keep it below $50), what reviews they have gotten from around the net, as well as our personal choice. Here’s the winner:

Our pick: The JLab JBuds J5 Metal Earbuds

Our top pick the JLab J5 in-ear headphonesRealm rating:
4.5\5 Stars
Lowest price:
on Amazon

Other versions available:
With microphone (on Amazon)

We have chosen this pair of JLab JBud’s because of their overall stability and technology included. You can go much cheaper with JLab, but here in the middle is what we like because of the capabilities the J5 has. We recommend going a few bucks higher and grabbing the J5M with microphone, but that’s really up to you: I personally don’t like to use the microphone attached to my headphones. The main features of the J5 earbuds include an ‘ergonomically engineered’ build for a softer, comfortable fit, a favorite of ours in terms of construction (they are aluminum with kevlar cables), the drivers are also micro and of a titanium make. These are really stable, and at only around $20 they are a steal if you’re looking for an affordable pair of earbuds.

Hi-Fi Noise Reducing Earbuds (Amazon)

A very cheap but solid pair of earbuds by JLabThis is the cheapest pair of JBuds they offer, and at only $6.50 a piece, the Hi-Fi noise reducing earbuds are something to look at if you want in-ear headphones for under 10 bucks. The features of this pair (remember how cheap they are, but still decent quality for the price) include a goldplayed 3.5mm audio jack, softer silicone ear buds for comfort and noise reduction. Threee sizes of ear bud tips are included. This has over 4,000 reviews because of good they are for the price. I’d recommend going $1.50 more and grabbing the model that includes a microphone (why not?)

Colors available: Black, Black/Yellow, Pink, Purple, White, Blue, Grey

Other versions available: With microphone

J4 Heavy Bass Metal In-Ear Earbuds (Amazon)

The JBud J4 in-ear headphonesThis another pair of earbuds by JLab that we really like and are around the realm of the J5’s. They offer a ‘soundstage’ frequency range (highs, full mids, and a punchy bass), aluminum housing, and a tangle-free flat cable. It comes with 7 sizes of silicone ear bud tips. Compatible with any device that has a 3.5mm, great for traveling as in comes with a nifty case. We recommend these if you prefer a more overall even distribution of frequencies.

Colors available: Black/Red, Gunmetal, Purple, Blue, Obsidian Black

Other versions available: With microphone

J6 High-Fidelity Ergonomic Earbuds (Amazon)

Another great pair of in-ear headphones by JLabThe J6 are a step up from our top pick. A little more expensive but if you want to drop a few extra dollars it won’t hurt. These are also ergonomically engineered. They’re really comfortable as they have those JLab signature silicone tips. The micro drivers are 6mm to help with audio fidelity and the cable is kevlar for a pretty stable build at it’s price. The box comes with a cable clip, JLab’s warranty as well as a little vinyl pouch for carrying purposes. Some sleek colors available as well.

Colors available: Silver, Pink, Black, Blue, Black/Yellow

Other versions available: With microphone (Prices vary per color)

GO Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds (Amazon)

Wireless in-ear earbuds by JLabThis is the only JLab earbuds that are wireless (as of now), and if that’s what you’re looking for, a $48 retail isn’t too bad. They support bluetooth 2.0 for portability and convenient, anything that allows bluetooth for that matter. The design is wrap-around, so if you were wondering how they stay on your head, it’s a little iffy. This goes for any wireless earbud for that matter, but these ‘wrap around your head’, so if you’re running or doing something physical, they aren’t ideal. You get up to five hours of playback and it comes with a Micro USB for charging.

Other colors available: Black

EPIC Earbuds (Amazon)

The EPIC in-ear headphones by JLabThis is the most expensive pair we’ll list by JLab, but they are worth it if you have the money. They have the biggest drivers that are seen in earbuds at 13mm. The tips are ‘gel’ and it comes with 6 of them, a travel case and a one-year warranty. They’ve got a universal mic included on the cable and only come in a few colors. They’ve gotten some positive reviews by members around the net, so if you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks on a set of earbuds, the JLab EPIC earbuds are something to look.

Other colors available: Blue/Gray, Black
